The OntoLex-Lemon Model: development and applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
The lemon model has become the primary mechanism for the representation of lexical data on the Semantic Web. The lemon model has been further developed in the context of the W3C OntoLex community group, resulting in the new OntoLex-Lemon model, recently published as a W3C report. In this paper, we describe the development and future outlooks for this model as well as briefly review some of its current applications. The recent evolution of lemon into OntoLex-Lemon, in the context of the community group, led to improvements on the model that further extends its application domain from formal applications such as question answering and semantic parsing to the representation of general machine-readable dictionaries, including WordNet and digitized versions of existing dictionaries. We look at two use cases of the OntoLex-Lemon model in representing dictionaries and in the WordNet Collaborative Interlingual Index. Finally, we consider the future of the OntoLex-Lemon model, which we intend to continue to develop and have recently identified areas that increase the applicability and value of the model to more users.

LIME: The Metadata Module for OntoLex
The OntoLex W3C Community Group has been working for more than three years on a shared lexicon model for ontologies, called lemon. The lemon model consists of a core model that is complemented by a number of modules accounting for specific aspects in the modeling of lexical information within ontologies. In many usage scenarios, the discovery and exploitation of linguistically grounded ontologi...
متن کاملTowards a Module for Lexicography in OntoLex
Dictionaries are increasingly being transformed into linguistic linked lata (LLD) relying on the lemon and OntoLex models, but this conversion is not always straightforward. For both linked data (LD) based applications to exploit all content provided in dictionaries and lexicographers adopting LD technologies, the original data and structure should be retrievable from the LLD version to prevent...
متن کاملEncoding Lexicographic Data in Ontolex: Lessons Learned and Open Questions
We describe experiments done in using the lemon model for encoding lexicographic data we got from different sources with distinct coverages. Our focus is on delivering statements on lessons learned and on questions that still should be discussed in the lemon community, as a possible input for forthcoming versions of the model.
متن کاملPreliminary Thoughts on Issues of Modeling Japanese Dictionaries Using the OntoLex Model
Recent works aiming at making Linked Data dictionaries make use of the Lemon or OntoLex models. Application to existing dictionaries revealed the need for extensions to the model to properly deal with lexicographic data without loss of information. These works however focus on languages found in Europe, and thus let the issue of Est-Asian lexicography for future exploration. This paper provides...
متن کاملFrom Language Documentation Data to LLOD: A Case Study in Turkic Lemon Dictionaries
In this paper, we describe the Lemon-OntoLex modeling of dictionaries created within language documentation efforts. We focus on exemplary resources for two less-resourced languages from the Turkic language family, Chalkan and Tuvan. Both datasets have been conveted into a Linked Data representation using the Lemon-OntoLex data model, with an extensible converter written in Python. We compare t...
